Today’s my 55th birthday (yes, I am that old!), so as my present to myself, I upgraded my computer a bit yesterday.
Old Parts:

- Crucial DDR 400 (PC 3200) SDRAM (4 GB total)
New Parts:
- Gigabyte GA-P35-DQ6 motherboard (FSB 1333/1066MHz)
- Intel Core 2 Quad 2.4GHz CPU
- Crucial Ballistix DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) SDRAM (4GB total)
- Thermaltake “Big Thunder” CPU Cooler

- Thermaltake Tsunami Mid-Tower Case
- Antec TPII550 TruePower 2.0 550W Power Supply
- Leadtek WinFast GeForce 8800GTX PCI-E Video Card
Summary:
Shattrath: Within 2 minutes of logging in I was looking at 111.1 fps; previously, I was seeing maybe 40 if it wasn’t too busy and I stood still. Generally, I was getting 50-80 fps.
Iron Forge: Standing on the steps to the AH, 80 fps. In the bank, 55-100+.

ooooooooohhhhhhh… aaaahhhhhhhhhh… I’m so jealous! I’m waiting patiently for the people at Mac to tell me if they’ve turned me down or not for financing soI an buy one of the new iMacs. I’m not as techno-savvy as you, but I’m getting the 24″ that has something about dual-core that has my hubby jealous of my computer for a change.

The new iMacs do look nice. Not that I need a new one, but
if I ever buythe next time I buy a new laptop, it’ll be a MacBook of some flavor. Bought my wife a new HP desktop last year…but I sure wish the new iMac had been available.Thank you for the “housewarming” gifts!
