Last night, a guildie whispered to me that he couldn’t find my macro blog. It then hit me that I’d deleted that blog from Blogger before I copied my posts on macros to my more current blog. Ulp!
So to correct that gaffe, here are some macro resources for some do-it-yourself research. I will devote some future posts to some specific macros–not just for rogues, but for priests and hunters too.
WoW Wiki has a very good discussion of macros in general, starting with the basics, and progressing in a fairly logical manner to some fairly esoteric macros. The link provided starts at the beginning, and that page has links to the more involved macro commands and scenarios.
The Rogue Forum on the official Blizzard boards has one of the most comprehensive discussions of rogue macros, but the first few posts also present a very good primer on macros in general.
In A View From Behind, Doomilias presents some articles on macros for mounts (applicable to more than just rogues, of course) and a sweet pick pocket macro. (Just a note on the PP macro: It’s “Pick Pocket” in your spellbook, so it has to be “Pick Pocket” in your macro: /cast Pick Pocket.)
Finally, the Rogue Spot is an excellent site for all things of the stealthy persuasion. Unfortunately, my firewall blocks it, so I can’t point to any specific macro resources there.
