Catching up…

Both here, and at work. Three-day weekends are both a blessing, and a curse. Why is the Tuesday after a holiday weekend always worse than any Monday?

Anyway…the weekend was pretty good, in many ways. My mother-in-law flew in on Saturday, and took us to dinner to my favorite Italian restaurant for my (belated) birthday dinner. Sunday, we had my middle son and his wife over for another wonderful dinner (rib roast!) for Talia’s (early) birthday dinner. On Monday, Mrs. Kestrel and her mother headed west to Yellowstone and the Tetons, leaving me with the cats and lots of time for WoW.

So, we ran Underbog again (different group from last time), this time for a couple 67 hunters (including Talonis). We had a 70 Tankadin and Rogue, as well as a 70 Resto druid, so the run was pretty easy. Loot was all underwhelming for our group, but we had a couple enchanters so that helped. We were #2 on the damage meters, behind only the 70 Rogue.

Later that afternoon, we did Slave Pens with 5 70s: Osprey healing & leading, Aggye (Warrior) tanking, Katika (70 Frost Mage) DPSing, Nyssa (Rogue) sapping and Usil (BM Hunter) trapping. As it should have been, the instance was pretty easy–other than me getting splatted twice very early on. I think I had to do one other rez in the entire instance. However, we got a lot of good practice in at effective CCing–some of the pulls were notable for their clock-like precision in sheeping/re-sheeping, trapping, and sapping, as well as off-tanking by Usil’s bear. (Usil still needs to work on not breaking his own traps. *grin*)
We didn’t HAVE to take one mob at a time, but again–good practice in 5-man group coordination. I was very proud of how our group got better with every pull. I can’t wait to go back in there with other groups–it was my first time in there, so I’m glad it was so successful.

Upcoming, I have an article on macros in the works–a few for each of the classes I play, plus a few general ones. And of course tomorrow is my weekly “best of the blogs” post.
