Sometimes, it’s better to be lucky than good

So last night, Are we Done Yet (AWDY) went into SM for the third night in a row to take on the headless horseman. We again went as a raid group (6 of us, so two groups of 3). We only did 3 pulls, but we still did pretty well: Another Helm of the Horseman (to our GM’s Pally) and the Swift Flying Broom. We only have two people in the guild with 300 riding skill–our level 70 druids–and one of them was online, but not in the group. So the GM picked it up for her, and we’re going to try to get another this week for the other druid. Not bad for an hour’s work. :)

I had Kestrel, my rogue, in the group (our Disc/Holy priest was on healing duty, with his wife the pally backing up). The Stam/Int ring (sorry; I can’t recall the name of it and can’t go to WoWHead to look it up) dropped once, and I passed in favor of our newest level 70, a hunter. I don’t PvP a lot, and that’s the only real use I’d have for it now (and I figure I can get one tonight, or tomorrow, or…)

So in 15 attempts, we’ve received three purple brooms (including the rarest once) and two helms. Not bad at all! (And while clearing trash, we got Ironspine’s breastplate–I don’t think any of us had seen it before. It only gave a small glowing shard though.)
