Welcome to another edition of the week that was! As you may have noticed, I post this article on Fridays (except when I’m, say, in Hawai’i), so each Friday I start the next week’s article. It also helps to get me in the mood for the weekend. And our first entry certainly did that!
-
Keredria at Tree of Life cracked me up with her "Dear Mr or Ms Scary Elite Mob" open letter on Friday, just before lunch.
-
Apathy, Inc. has another great post this week. This time, Fade presents a cogent and insightful discussion of why Blizzard Hates You (and why we shouldn’t hate Blizzard). If you think Blizz is out to get you (or your character class), this is a must-read.
-
Matticus posted an insightful article regarding gender identification in WoW, using the story of the high school girl in Washington State who was apparently stalked by a 20-year-old man from British Columbia. He brought out some good points (not that I necessarily agreed with them), but he does provide us with food for thought. And I think we initiated a reasoned, and reasonable, discussion of our somewhat different points of view.
-
Hey all you cloth-wearing healers! (Yes, that’s all of us priestly types.): Galadria at The Holy Light went OOC (for her) and posted a rant. (Technically, I think it was two rants, but I’m talking about the first one here.) Gala’s upset at the QQing in the Priest community about the appelation of "hybrid class" to healing priests. I liked her summary: "If you say Priests can’t hold their own in a raid, then I say you haven’t found a good Priest!"
-
And Gala’s post (above) was an enthusiastically favorable response to one from Bruthah at Disciple of the Light (see the Blogroll additions, below), who opined that "Priests are the hybrids of WIN!"

Big Bear Butt Blogger has a really fun read on a recent Kharazan run. With our guild starting to think about the possibility of maybe getting attuned someday and perhaps trying out the raid game, I found BBBB’s account interesting as well as fun.
- Speaking of Druids, Gillir at Stormrage’s Dreaming has a hilarious "how-to" on playing a resto Druid. While it’s probably a lot funnier to our leafy friends, it still cracked me up. Be sure to read the linked Blizzard Forums thread, too.
- Over at Hunter Mayhem, Pelides posted a very cool article on hunter consumables for raiding. The list is probably pretty good for sneaky sneaks as well.
New to the Blogroll
OMGooses: What a week for blogs! Rather than blog addition, I think we have logarithmic leaps! I’m sure there are some I saw this week I wanted to add, but got interrupted at work, or forgot to bring over here, or whatever–don’t worry, if I’ve linked to you or commented on your blog, you should be in the Blogroll. If you aren’t, let me know! (I may have to just start a blog about other WoW blogs…*boggle*) And by all means, if I’m in YOUR blogroll, but you’re not in mine, let me know–I’m all about reciprocity!
-
Ranger’s Bow — A fairly new blog from a relative newcomer to WoW. The author’s just hit Level 40, but his posts are both insightful and enjoyable. And seeing the Aerie listed on his front page is always a pleasant surprise.
-
Mystic Chicanery: Tales and Tips from the World of Warcraft — A fairly old blog (articles date back to February)–how have I missed it till now? Nibuca has a lot of characters, but her main appears to be a Holy Paladin. Lots of good articles, and very nice layout make it a pleasure to read.
-
Le Repaire de Sellia— Sellia is a Blood Elf huntress who writes a French-language blog fromQuebec. I wish I could say more, but I don’t read French! However, fromwhat I can make out, she’s got a whole stable of characters, and hermain (Sellia) just hit 40. She should have been added to the blogroll long ago–my oversight. Bonjour, Sellia!
-
Out of Mana— The only reason this blog hasn’t been on the blogroll longer is because I thought I’d added it way back on Day 1.
Megan’s a Warlock (with a couple other high-level alts) with a definite PvP bent. While I’m no PvPer, it’sc lear Megan knows her stuff. Her insight is well-respected on many, many blogs, whenever and wherever she comments. I have just one question, though: HOW does a pally run out of mana??
-
Altitis — "The Sandbox of Yet Another Unfocused World of Warcraft Player." That’s the tagline on Gwaendar’s Pally-oriented blog, which also has a fair dose of Arena info. There’s also a bit of theorycrafting/macro discussion. A good, knowledgeable, enjoyable reading experience.
-
Disciple of the Light — Bruthah is a Discipline Priest recommended by Galadria (The Holy Light). An excellent blog from the "red-headed stepchild" branch of the Priest tree. Lots of good reading there!
-
Adventures in Azeroth — Amanna is a NE Druid (I’m just guessing, here
) whose articles cover the gamut of blogliness (if that isn’t a word, maybe I’ll start a Wikipedia page for it) when it comes to our favorite pastime. I found her link on BBBB’s blog–another case of blogendipity (kinda like serendipity, only different). Eminently readable for everyone, not just droods! (And her Kara Attunement Guide rocks!)

“HOW does a pally run out of mana??”
When Priests like us BURN them! Buahaha! =)
Thanks for the link and shout out.
The title is tongue in cheek, as my main is a Warlock (1st toon ever rolled) but I actively PVP on a Druid, Rogue and Paladin as well. None of the classes have problems with “mana” (or Energy as a resource for that matter) and much of post TBC PVP has become about outlasting and survival.
I thought the blog title was generic enough but personal to my perspective at the same time.
Thanks for the link! I like Aerie on the front page so I can get a one-stop portal to other blogs
Hi ! Thanks for linking me … again !
As you’ve noticed, i’m an altoholic. That’s why i’m still in my 40′s with my main.
Keep up the good work !
Thanks for the link. I’d return the favour but had you listed already, after finding you through Kirk’s Priestly Endeavors.
