As I mentioned a couple days ago, I was out of town (and pretty much afk) most of this week, so my apologies for not having a nice list of quality articles for you to peruse. On the other hand, I was able to add a couple sites to the blogroll. Welcome to the newcomers!
Edit: If you’ve been here a couple times today, you may have noticed that the number of blogs below has gone from the original two to four, as I play catch-up. Similarly, I believe the following are important (and recent) enough to share:
-
BigRedKitty posted regarding magnitude in assessing differences in DPS measurements. So while what he discussed at the beginning of his article is important, I think even more significant is his response to a comment on an earlier post: "BRK! Please stop saying DamageMeters! It’s inaccurate and there are much better ones out there!" Essentially, BRK argues that as long as the differences between damage meters (note the lower case!) are small, they’re unimportant; but when those differences are an order of magnitude apart (e.g., 20 percent rather than 2 percent), then you need to figure out why, and not trust either measurement until you do figure out the reason. Finally, if anyone really wonders why BRK appears on almost every WoW Blogroll in the known universe, it’s for aphorisms such as this: "Doing really well at what your guild needs is more important than doing massive DPS."
- The Egotistical Priest has an excellent "back to basics" article on must-take, might-take, and don’t-take talents for healy priests. Just remember: Don’t make the Great Healing Goddess in the Sky cry.
- The Delusional Hunter pasted (I think he pasted it) a post from the official forums. Since I won’t punish you with that link, here’s Pelides’ post on aggro for non-tanks (mostly, how not to get it, and how to get rid of it if you DO get it!). This advice never, ever gets old. I especially appreciated the advice with respect to high-damage DPSers at the start of a pull: Don’t start off with your biggest thermonuclear blast–start small (arcane missles?), give the tank time to really build up threat AND rage (or equivalent), then start blasting the bad guy all to hell.
Blogroll Additions
- Amava Knows Aggro — In this case, "aggro" is equal parts aggression and aggravation. In looking back at this blog, I discovered I was the first person to comment on it. Since then, Amava’s posted quite a few enjoyable articles relating the adventures of leveling up a hunter. Although I’m not sure if this shouldn’t go into the Altoholic category.
- Two And A Half Orcs — Want instant notoriety? Call TJ an "Icky." Enjoyably amusing blog about an(other) orc…props for giving us another Shaman blog!
- TankHard — TankHard! came about due to noticing a gap in information services fortanking, and more specifically warriors in World of Warcraft. It is [the site's]intent to provide compelling and informative posts and information forthe tanking community at large.
- Mirshalak’s Lair — Survival hunter with a very informative blog. Well-written and an excellent perspective of the "forgotten" hunter tree.

Thanks for the plug!! I love reading your stuff, and follow along every day. And yes, indeed, you did post my first comment. I never told you, but you made my day with that. Must be some dorky first-time blogger thing, but thanks, small gesture that made a big impact
