More than Child’s Play

Many of you, I’m sure, are familiar with the great work done by Jon and Shelbi at The Bronze Kettle, in support of Child’s Play. If you aren’t aware of this wonderful cause, I urge you to click on over to Big Bear Butt Blogger’s excellent article regarding the charity. For the lazy among you (*grin*), here’s the Cliff Notes version, quoting BBBB:

Child’s Play was originally set up by the guys at the webcomic Penny Arcade as a response to all of the bad press gamers and people who love games get, and how we are portrayed in the media, all of the time. This linki ncludes a FAQ with great info, including the original post that the Penny Arcade guys made when they kicked this whole thing off.

If you’re reading this blog, then you’re spending $12-15/month to play World of Warcraft. You pay monthly for Internet access as well, not to mention all the dollars you (and I) spend on our other tech toys: Keyboards, mice, headsets and the rest. So I encourage each of you to figure out how to budget, say, an extra month’s worth of WoW to donate to a children’s hospital of your choice.
