@ Euripedes:
Yeah, I recall reading something along those lines ages ago (maybe in Beta??). For me, it doesn't wash.

I know the analogy isn't perfect but look once again at the Warlock. Five minions (let's not dignify those with the term "pet" okay? ;)), each one suited to a particular use. Just as an example, when you see a 'lock soloing, what minion do you see? Either the Void Walker or the Doom Guard. But put that lock in, say, Mana Tombs, and you're going to see the imp (fel hunter in some pulls).

So now I'm in MT (this is probably a lousy example, but feel free to substitute any other instance/raid): On most pulls, my cat and I are DPSing. But maybe there's a pull or two where we need an off-tank. So I dismiss my cat and summon my...bear? Like hell I do.

I can't change pets to suit within an instance; at least give me the opportunity to change pets to suit the type of encounters I'm about to undertake. But I can't do that with only 2 stable slots. At least, not in a way that makes a lot of sense, or doesn't entail heading over to the Pet Trainer to untrain pet skills and reassign points.

Dammitall...I'm getting more ticked about this by the minute!

Blizz has provided their reasons for why there are only a certain number of pets.

Some crap about the pets you have actually have some weight behind their choosing, and so on.

Nothing to forgive, OAM: You even said some things I wish I had said, and you made the point I forgot, namely, that we really only have 2 effective slots while getting to 70.

How many of us have made the tough decision to abandon a loyal and faithful pet, simply because of the limitation on stable space?

It sucks. Really: It SUCKS.

Blizzard has pure talent in regards to giving and taking back. I wish I could scream, "NO TAKE BACKS!!!" right in their faces. But alas that does nothing. Since they removed serpents oh so many years ago and brought them back years later - I have no doubt that soon enough those ghost wolves will be gone. We will never acquire any more stable slots (literally this has been a plea for 3 years now...it ain't gonna happen).

It's a sad blizzard life indeed. Either you accept it and try your best to enjoy having 2-3 pets (really only 2 because you need that third slot to tame whatever to hold onto until it learns that new skill).

So basically you get two pets. Wow. A pet class that gets two pets. Yay?

I still love my hunter most though. It was the roll I was meant to play.

:)

ps...forgive my ranting
