Just A Quick Update From the Weekend

On Saturday, my second Hunter, Sparverius, hit Level 70 (please, hold the applause…but gifts are welcome!). Spar’s been leveling up with two Shadow Priests, Sassy and Lavynder. Lavy hit 68 on Saturday as well, and Sassy hit 67 yesterday (or is within a sneeze of 67).

We’re currently in Blade’s Edge, just about to start engaging the ethereals (I can never remember the name of those guys; sorry). From there, it’s on to Netherstorm, thence to Shadowmoon Valley.

Right now, after a couple upgrades (Breastplate of Rapid Striking, Cloak of the Craft) from the AH, Spar has somewhere between 650 and 700g. So there’s no question he’ll have 1K for his gryphon as soon as we get to SMV (no rush to buy it, since my questmates can’t fly yet).

Spent all evening last night questing before heading to the bank, where I saw Valano’s Longbow waiting for me. Doh! Ah well, still need a ‘scope on it. (Have a bid in the AH on an Adamantite Scope; Khorium Scope would be good, but not sure I want to spend what one would cost, and I definitely am not hurting in the DPS department.)

Now that he’s 70, and now that I’ve seen the creamy goodness that are the Battlegrounds, I’m seriously toying with the idea of changing Spar to a Survival Marksman (thanks, Bremm!) spec. The only problem with that is, I really don’t intend to BG him! I am playing Talonis there (AV, mostly) to get the Gladiator’s Heavy Crossbow, and possibly some armor upgrades.

I know, I know: What I really need to do is get Talonis in some instances and upgrade that way (Sonic Spear, I hear you calling!). But I’m not sure I can get a better bow before Kara (and I’m sorry, but I won’t use a gun, so forget that part of the discussion).

Finally, just a quick note on BGs: After doing my daily AH scan (via Auctioneer Advanced) I still had a few minutes before I needed to leave for work, so I got Falken in the EoTS queue. Following Megan’s advice, I saw some opportunities to do more than top the Deaths list (which I may have done anyway: minimal resilience FTL), and managed to cap 3 flags (tops for both sides), including the one that gave us the win. We didn’t really need the flag, but it did save us some time; the fight wasn’t too close. Nice note on which to head to work…in icy slush that was NOT on the road at 5 a.m. (or so I’m told).

Have a great week, everyone!

Survival for BGs? I actually prefer my Marksman build for BGs. With Aimed Shot (yes, there’s usually time) being equivalent to Mortal Strike and (faster) Arcane Shot removing random buffs, I love my MM Hunter in BG. And the ability to Scatter Shot that Tauren Warrior you’re trying to kite makes it all that much better.

God I’m loving BGs lately. Maybe I’m sick.

Doh (again)! I may have been thinking arenas (dunno; have yet to do an arena, and I’m in no hurry to try), but yes…MM would be a better choice for BGs, where burst damage is preferable to sustained DPS. I don’t see enhanced traps as an advantage, since it seems everyone but me has a trinket to bust out of ‘em. Thanks for the wake-up, Bremm. :)

You might, if you can spare the cash want to try Survival.

Arcane, Multi, Wyvern, Aimed, Readiness, Arcane, Multi Wyvern, Aimed…

But I don’t really know jack. I’m just a stupid Mage.

You say you’re a “just a stupid Mage” but a whole bunch of your brethren have been making my life a living hell lately in BGs. So what’s that make me? :(

Ahhh…Wyvern sting…It’s great when used as an opener in an instance. And yes…that rotation you mention is one I recall reading about elsewhere (maybe that’s where I got the SV idea from?)…but when I open Serpent, Arcane, Multi…well, by the time I’m ready to let Multi go, I’m usually running around like a little girl (no offense to the bigger girls who may be reading) being chased by Billy with his froggy.

Of course…I could set one Hunter to MM, the other to SV (since I’m not running either of them in instances much–Osprey’s much more in demand) and see how it goes…

    …Thinks…

Nice 3 tower cap in EOTS—that’s all you really need (unless you are way behind in points). Spread the knowledge! :P
