Mea Culpa: Rant Withdrawn

Color me embarrassed.  As Bryan pointed out in the Comments to the preceding article, the behavior I was observing was not of Google’s doing, but a script that is part of the Better Google Reader plug-in. It was updated earlier this week, and I simply applied the update without going in and checking to see what was updated. Lesson learned! /kicks self. Hard.

As you can see from the following screen shots, the new functions of Better GReader are clearly identified and explained in the Help page (note I’ve unchecked the third item!):

So, two things:

First, thanks to all who responded and told me that Google Reader really was working okay for you. Thanks again to Bryan for solving the mystery.

Second, note to self: Self? follow your own advice, chump: Don’t be so quick to jump to conclusions. There are two sides to every story; read both!

Sheesh!

You’re welcome. I’m generally a RSS Feed lurker for everything I read. I actually like the preview item feature. Anyhow, glad I could help.

Hehe, at least you owned up to your error! Many people would have just kept quiet and hoped that nobody noticed!
