The much-anticipated WordPress 2.5 was released on Saturday, March 29. I didn’t realize it until today, but at lunchtime I upgraded to the new version (note to self: fix the footer!).
I re-enabled all my many plugins (except for a theme for the Admin back-end, since that part of WP is completely redone–and quite nicely, I might add!), and everything appears to be working correctly, except for my commercial editor, Wysiwyg Pro. However, there is an update available (dated March 3, though), which I will install when I get home tonight. As it is, the built-in editor seems easier to use than the 2.3 version.
I’m sure there are some plugins that will need to be updated in the next few days, but nothing appears overtly broken. If you see something wonky, though, please use the Contact Form to drop me a note to alert me to the situation. (Using the Contact Form will verify that plugin’s functionality too!)

TBH, I’m afraid to make this leap.

My understanding is there are some security issues in 2.3 that are fixed in 2.5, as well as the sexy new Admin area. And it seems to load faster. I’ve yet to read of any issues, other than some plugin compatibility (although, as I posted, no real show-stoppers for me).
