Talk about serendipity, I got a double dose of it from following links from commenters here today. First, I found Ambidextrous, a blog about a combat-sword rogue just entering Karazhan. Ambi’s now added to the blogroll under Rogues. Second, while commenting on Ambi’s blog, I discovered CommentLuv.
CommentLuv is a simple php script that checks the feeds of your commenters and appends a link to their last post to their comment. It looks like this (without the highlighting):
So I got completely humbled the next time I went into AV. ![]()
Kestrel’s last blog post..20 Questions With Matticus
You may notice the link is to the FeedBurner RSS entry; the plugin author suggests this article for information on turning off FeedBurner redirects (which I’ve done here) to help maximize exposure for your commenters.
So why is CommentLuv a Good Thing? Two big reasons: First, for the blogger (i.e., the person who installs CommentLuv), it encourages comments! And anything that pulls lurkers out of the woodwork is a Good Thing, right?
Second, for the commenter, it creates additional exposure to their blog. After all, who doesn’t want to attract more readers?
Regarding that second point, it certainly behooves a blogger to craft enticing titles for their articles. For instance, while you may not be a regular reader of my blog, you might enjoy reading Matt’s blog quite a bit. "Whoa! An interview with Matt? Too cool…lemme check that out!" and boom…I have new readers (some of those hundred-plus who subscribe to World of Matticus but not to Kestrel’s Aerie
), and, I hope, new subscribers!
Personally, I see nothing but win here: A new rogue blog, a new plugin (yeah, I’m addicted…in game and out!), new readers, new subscribers. So what are you waiting for?

hmm, i’ve been using that for ages on my family blog, i really should put it on the wow one too huh!
Softi’s last blog post..Recruited and I got Lewtz!
That’s what I’m thinking
