Andy, I was very happy to attend the second home game of Ichiro's second season in Seattle: He made an unbelievable throw from deep right field to nail a base runner at third. Awesome player!

Trollin » LOL...my oldest son lived in the Tampa area for the past few years...until December of last year, when they moved to the St. Louis area. Season before last, I went to a Rays game--interleague against the Dodgers. Rays won. :p

It would be cool if LA and Anaheim go all the way, but things may get a little crazy in Los Angeles if they are both there!

Being born and raised in Cleveland, I'm a die-hard Tribe fan. I remember going to the old Municipal Stadium. It held something like 90,000 people and back in the 80's the team stunk. So going to a game that had maybe 5,000 in attendance, it was like being in a tomb. But I cheered my ass off for players like Bret Butler, Pat Tabler, Cory Snyder and George Vukovich. The mid-90's were our heyday but we never could close the deal in 1995 and 1997 in the World Series. As a result, I'd still like to blow up the Braves and Marlins. Stupid National League. *kicks dirt and stomps away*

AL>NL!

But hey, as a Mariners fan I haven't had a good team to watch in a while. I'll be rooting for the White Sox though, Ozzie Guillen is one spicy fella.

By the way, I neglected to mention in the original article: You can make up to 3 selections in the poll. My thought was you could choose your league, your favorite AL team (of the contenders) and ditto for the NL.

I went NL, Dodgers, Angels.

I recall the 1980 World Series–Phillies beat the Royals. I was rooting for KC; having lived near Kansas City a few years earlier. Good luck to your team in the playoffs…at least against Milwaukee. :)

Yeah, I lived in Tampa my whole life... We got the Devil Rays when I was in 5th grade. We've been pretty terrible up till this year. Coincidentally (?), this is the first year I've been away from Tampa for the entire baseball season. Say what you will.

All I really remember from baseball is Wade Bogg's 3000th hit. I remember the story that was spread around after that. Supposedly, his wife had told his son to run our on the field and take whatever base Bogg's got to (i.e. take first if he hit a single). When he hit a home run, the kid didn't know what to do since home plate isn't a removable base. =P
