Weekly Wrap-Up: Snow Leopard to the Constitution

Quite the cornucopia here this week, including, I noticed, a lot of short items from TechSpot. Anything particularly catch your eye? Let’s talk about it in the comments!

Since I missed the Friday Five this week (too busy playing with Snow Leopard), I may try to post up a special Labor Day edition.

*headesk* Vampire words. I do thank you though, Kes… I’m back to college again and that reminder will help with the total of six or seven papers I have to write this term. The stronger the wording, the better the grade.

Yeah…had a bit of a wake up call myself. So you can’t “Baffle ‘em with BS” anymore? ;) I managed to do that with one Poli Sci prof at UCLA. Only later did I understand I actually knew what the hell I was talking about. Sometimes, I wish I’d kept PoliSci as my major instead of switching to Psych.

Not sure if its a vampire word or not, but I wish I could get the word “just” out of my regular vocabulary. That and my horrendous tendency to spell it “jsut”.

Depends on how you use it, I think, but I can see how it could be a vampire word. I think one of mine is “definitely.” I almost typed, “I can definitely see…” (At least I can spell “definitely” correctly!) And yeah, I get “jsut” a lot. :)

I’m actually sure its a vampire word now, at least for me. I was making a post on a forum a second ago my sentence was:
        “I’m sorry I’ve just had a…”
Which is absolutely no different in context than.
        “I’m sorry I’ve had a…”

I almost typed “just a second ago” in this comment too so I think I really need to avoid that word!
